Self Reflection

After a few big weeks and lots of effort by all members of the team the Archicad section of the assignment is finally done. I feel as though have contributed strongly to this assignment. I have attended every group meeting and added to our team blog regularly. I have spent a great deal of hours and days in the computer lab completing this assignment. On the whole things ran smoothly, there were a few hiccups along the way but as a team we got over them. I suppose one thing that did bother me was a particular group member’s inability to sick to the times we had set which did make it difficult for me and the other members to complete our parts when we needed to.

However in the end everyone did pull their own weight. I feel I have most defiantly put in my share of hard work. I am relieved to pass the Archicad work onto Ryan and Andy to complete their parts.

Progress Update

After Toady I strongly feel that I have pulled my weight in this assignment. As I mentioned earlier my role was the Landscape Architect but as a group we agreed that I would also be working on the house as well. Today I made the window bench seat as a GDL, as well as the curved window in the east corner of the courtyard. I also created the curtain wall next to the internal courtyard. After talking to the group I have decided not to add the trees and plants in ArchiCAD as it will slow the server down significantly. Ryan has suggested that there are more plants to choose from in Artlantis anyway.

As a group we hope to have the CAD section finished by tomorrow. I have done my part but I don’t think Steven will have his section done by then, I suppose you can refer to his blog to see his progress atm.

I have also made the fence/balustrade as a GDL object and added that to the design.

Thanks
